Alana and Bob met in Chicago during the summer of 1998. They were both in from out of town, Alana from Montreal and Bob from Iowa, and met at a mutal friends house. They immediately discorved they had many things in common, the wonderful game of bridge and a hunger for life among them. This was the beginning of something special.

Although they were immediately attracted to each other and seemed to be compatible, nothing is ever perfect. Alana liked Tea. Bob liked coffee. Alana lived in Montreal. Bob lived in Iowa. Although there were problems, neither person was willing to believe it couldn't work.

In the summer of 1999, Bob and Alana got married. Alana decided to give up her life to join the man she intended to spend the rest of her life with. She moved into his home in Davenport, but before long, both of them needed a change. Where better to go then San Diego California? They made the long drive and set up camp in a city just outside of Chula Vista, California. Here they nestled into their home and began their life together.
